Rent Apartments and Houses in Shediac New Brunswick
Shediac is affectionately known as the "Lobster Capital of the World" and hosts an annual festival every year that celebrates their lobster fishing industry. Upon entering the town there is a 90-ton Lobster sculpture known as the “World’s Largest Lobster”. Affordable houses for rent in Shediac, affordable land, and a small city feeling of big-city shops and utilities are just some of the reasons why for the second census in a row, Shediac Mayor Jacques Le-Blanc 's city boasts the fastest growing population of any city in New Brunswick, with a growth rate of over 10 percent.
The population surge of Shediac in the past five years to 6,664 people is 511 more than in the previous census, which also resulted in population growth for New Brunswick cities. "If you only look at the place, we're 20 minutes from Greater Moncton, it's so easy to drive and we're right on the Northumberland Strait river," LeBlanc says. People gravitate from rural areas to more urban ones across Canada, but particularly in New Brunswick, the latest five-year census figures, published Wednesday, indicate. But many of those people don't want to leave their pastoral environment in a big city for life.
