| Hello all, I am an electrical engineer by training but worked as an embedded and systems programmer for decades, until I had to retire due to poor health at the time. I'm OK now. I have been on ODSP for the past 5 years living in a basement room of a beautiful house in Kanata owned by an Ottawa Police Sargent and his wife, a manager at DND. In September, I turned 65 and will get all 3 Canada retirement payments which is higher than ODSP. Unfortunately for me, they've decided to sell this house and built a new one in Belleville, Ont. I need to find a place and move out before the end of the month or even sooner. Otherwise, I have to live with my daughter until I find the right place. I don't want to live in a room-farm or a house that is packed with tenants. I like my peace and quiet. I am also proficient in all aspects of construction and mechanical engineering, and can make or repair anything really. That's what makes me valuable in this world. If you want a mature, respectful, non-smoker, non-drinker, no visitors, that pays his rent at least one day early and is quiet as a mouse, I'm your guy. I'm looking for a clean and quiet residential area in the Ottawa area that allows me to work on my robotics and programming hobby. For the past 5 years I was paying $700/month and have excellent references, but am willing to go higher for the right place. I have minimum furniture which I am not attached to, but would like to keep some of them if I have the space. I'm ok with cats but don't like small yappy dogs. They're insecure and bark at the slightest thing. If they're not barkers, I'm ok with them. If you know of a place like this and point me to it, I will offer you $200 finders fee if/when I move in.
