Ideal spot for exploring Ottawa, an extended vacation,relocation, staycation, building delays. ect. Your well behaved pet is welcome when requested... reasonable conditions apply. The cottage is offered for 30-120 day stay; it is not available as a permanent residence. We use the garage it is not accessible to residents. The surrounding area is home to a Heron; Otters, Wild Turkeys, Fireflies, Ladybugs, groundhogs and Frogs... This is the perfect spot for nature lovers; offering mature trees, creek, barbecue and private space. The Garden has never been sprayed with pesticides. The lawn is an eclectic mixture of dandelion and clover with a touch of traditional grass...The rabbits love it! The surrounding area includes traditional farms and private homes. Amenities include: Screened, back deck. Full kitchen. Living room /dining area. Two bedrooms; beds one queen, one double. One bathroom with tub and shower. Washer and dryer TV. Wi fi. Maximum 3 persons due to septic system limits. Request to bring your pet before booking. Historically, a rural farming community, the village enjoys an enviable community spirit. The cottage is offered for 30-120 day stay. it is not intended for use as a pemanent residence. We kindly ask : No unregistered guests. No smoking of any substance or vaping indoors. (Outside on the deck and in the garden is allowed). No storage of furniture, appliances, valuables, or large personal items inside the cottage or on the property. All personal belongings are to be removed by checkout time.( Noon on day of departure.) If a forwarding address is provided we will return items left behind after checkout at your expense whenever possible. Pets and pet policies to be discussed and agreed before booking . Please do not use the cottage mailing address. The mailbox is not not secure and is not available for guest use. Government Id is required . No extra occupants without written permission. All occupants must agree to abide by the house rules and terms of service. Planning to arrive later than booked, leave early ,or be away from the property for more than 48hrs, please let us know for security. The host reserves the right to refuse entry or remove anyone providing false or misleading information. Please wash dishes, and remove garbage before leaving. (We do not expect bedding, throws or towels, to be laundered.) Amenities provided are available only until check-out time on the day of departure. The cottage is served by a deep drilled well into a large aquifer. A culligan system removes mild sulfer. The Prescot Russell trail runs from Ontario to the Quebec border going east and towards Ottawa going west; offering a challenge for the adventurous. Dogs on leash welcome! ( 15 mins) drive to Petrie Island nature trails and beach. Petrie Island offers a splendid beach in a conservation area. Take the scenic route from Orleans to downtown Ottawa along the George Etienne Cartier parkway. .Visit Domain Perrault winery (Friday - Sunday 11am-5pm ) The Domaine Perrault Winery offer wine tasting in a relaxed atmosphere. 15 mins drive to Hammond Golf and Country club and Broken Stick brewery and restaurant a highly recommended location with a large covered, dog freindly, patio overlooking the golf course grounds. 15 mins-20km Mer Bleue Walking Trails “Mer Bleu has been designated an internationally significant wetland under the United Nations’ Ramsar Convention.” “The different loops may be completed in any combination, providing a walk as long as 12-km, or as short as 2.8-km. Each loop is numbered as a separate trail.” (Taken from the “Ontario Trails Council” website.) 20 mins-30 km Calypso Water Park. The biggest theme is water-park in North America. Offering 35 water-slides 100 water-games and summit tower, the tallest water-slide tower in North America and a one-acre wave pool. Open from June to September 1st (Information taken from the Calypso website). 35 mins-40km Nordik spa in Chelsea Quebec 1 hour -65 Km from Mont Saint-Marie Ski Hills. GROCERIES, SHOPPING AND DINING OUT. A very short drive will bring you to an abundance of grocery stores and family restaurants. 2mins-1.5km J.T. Bradley’s country convenience store. Once a historic part of the community, Bradley’s is a convenience store and local LCBO; the store adds new meaning to “convenience” for Navan residents. 3mins-3km Seasonal roadside produce. Fresh, mostly locally grown, vegetables, herbs, and fruits. Byward Market Vendors grow their produce in Navan; then take it to market downtown. 10mins-9km: Farm Boy, Metro,Food basics, Sobeys, Bulk Barn,Canadian Superstore.Canadian tire, Walmart 10 mins 9km:Cafe latte chino, Mcdonalds, Burger King, Mandarine Restaurant, Shoeless Joe sports Grill, Barley Moe,East Side Marios, Moxies, Boston Pizza, Mucho Burrito, The Works, and many more. Must visits in downtown Ottawa include: The Parliament Buildings, the National Art Gallery, the National Arts Center, The Byward Market, Rideau Locks, The Museum of Nature and Major Hills Park. The best option to get to Ottawa is by car. Bus Transport to downtown is limited to weekdays. The commuter bus leaves to downtown at aprox: 6am 6:30am, 7:30am, returning at 4 pm, 4:30 pm and 5:20 pm. Park and ride options offer parking for your vehicle at a number of convenient locations; it has a substantially better timetable, offering frequent tranport to and from downtown. O.C offers a fast, clean, efficient service. A much better alternative than trying to find parking downtown! Parking is available at at Greens Creek; take the bicycle path along the side of the Ottawa river to downtown. Throughout the summer the Parkway is reserved for bicycles, skaters and pedestrians on Sundays. Guest access Residents have private and exclusive access to the cottage ,deck, BBQ and amenities during the reservation period. Please note: The cottage is not to be used for storage of furniture, appliances, or large personal items. Sheets, duvets, linens, and towels are provided. If you prefer to bring your own Let us know we will remove ours to avoid a mixing up of linens. Stairs to the basement (carpet covered.) to access TV, washer and dryer. Children and infants must be under the care of a responsible adult at all times. Please clean up after your pets. Pets are not to be left alone inside the cottage.
