Description
Hi everyone! I'm looking for ONE awesome roommate to live in the second bedroom in a 2bdr space (not a basement suite, yay!) Available anytime in Dec (2024) or Jan 1st (2025) Located in East Vancouver/Commercial Drive. Rent is $1025 all inclusive. (Hydro, wifi & rent) Damage deposit is $512.5 -SINGLE occupancy only, no pets (sorry!) or couples -Open to a move in anytime in Dec (2024) or Jan 1st (2025) -Medium sized room has a bed/mattress if you need/has a small crawl space -NO laundry (must use laundry mat) -NO communal storage -Space close to Grandview Park -Shared bathroom between 2 people -There would be a 1 month trial and if all is going well, could continue until May/June of 2025 -Must be a working professional, someone who has a defined job schedule -Work from home no more than 1 day during each work week If interested, please reply to the following questions. I'll respond to those who seem like a good fit. Viewings take around 30 minutes if we want to get to know each other. 3 references are required (2 must be former roommates/people you've lived with) if we are interested in living together. 1. Age, sex, profession? 2. Your professional working schedule/time during Mon-Fri? (If you work from home, how many days?) 3. Are you comfortable with a one month trial? 4. Do you like to cook and if so, how many days per week? 5. What do you like to do on weekends? 6. Preferred duration of rental? 7. What are you like to live with (quiet, extroverted, calm, life of the party etc? 8. Why are you moving out of your current place? 9. Do you smoke tobacco or herb/drink alcohol? 10. If you have a partner, how frequently would they visit you? 11. Do you like to have friends over often? 12. Your contact number (To arrange a viewing) The overall space is relatively quiet and intended mostly for working, reflection, sleep and creative pursuits. This isn't a party house or an overly social house with lots of mess always left behind from social gatherings. Guests are welcome in moderation and in communication with each other. The entire house is furnished so the communal space is best suited for an individual who doesn't have many items. The room fits someone who wants simplicity and is comfortable with the home already materially arranged. I'm looking for someone who can be okay with what is already setup and doesn't feel the need to change it because it already/naturally works for them. I'm looking for someone who: -Respects quiet after 10:30pm on weekdays (Mon through Fri) -Similar values as mine when it comes to home life -Is considerate and knows how to share the space respectfully -Works full-time or studies full-time -Someone who can maintain a healthy balance between being home and spending time outside -Maintains a clean bedroom for themselves and a clean communal space (If you're not a clean person, I can say in advance that it won't work out.) -Wants to follow a light cleaning schedule - Someone outgoing but doesn't always need friends to come over 24/7 to feel occupied -Has lived in shared spaces before -Non-smoker/knows how to manage alcohol intake -A clear communicator who can respectfully share a communal space -Understands social cues and knows when to take space/engage at home -Down to earth, chill and easy-going -If you have a partner, I'm comfortable if they are over once in a while but not as a full-time occupant/in moderation I'm a woman in my late 30's and my schedule can vary between full/part-time however I'm very active and maintain a balanced schedule. I cook a lot and value a clean and functional kitchen. I also love electronic music so the person I live with has to be okay with this playing occasionally. (I always play music within respectful hours.) I've found that a one month trial period is ideal for both parties to see if we would work together in a home setting. My outcome is to find someone long-term however a one month trial is enough time to find out if we can cohabitate. It gives us both trial time to see if we're a good fit. I would love to live with someone between the ages of 25-45; if you are outside of this age group, feel free to contact me if this ad speaks to you. For me, I strongly feel that a home is meant to be a place of safety, decompression, a place to unwind and be who you need to be especially as life situations outside the home can often present challenges. Home should be a place of comfort and peace. It's really important to be able to have a roommate that understands this, is reasonable, mature, communicates and is interested in creating peace in the home.
