Description
There are two rooms for rent in the basement of the main house on a (soon to be), self sufficient farm. It wouldn’t take much to make it an independent suite. It has a separate entrance already with a washroom, washer and dryer, sink, and all electric cooking appliances. Both rooms have large walk in closets and one has a living room as well with a fireplace…it’s an old farm house and the basement is unfinished so it’s very humble accommodations—hence the price! You’d also have full access to the upstairs kitchen etc if you so wish. My 17 year old son lives upstairs, (he’s a very good/respectful boy—not me just being biased. Haha), with two other very respectful, quiet and clean tenants who work all the time. No hard drinkers or heavy drug users please. (I’ve got a zero tolerance policy for any of that nonsense). All well behaved animals and any livestock are welcome. Furnished or unfurnished and long or short term rental. The room/rooms are available immediately and I will be holding viewings (tomorrow), Sunday, July 21st. We are located 15 minutes south of Calgary and 10 minutes north of Okotoks. (Pics of downstairs will be posted tomorrow). A little bit about myself: I went back to school late in life and spent the last 8 of 10 years in school. I ended up at UofC pursuing a Master’s in Architecture. (We’ve also got an Archaeologist on the property!) I’ve got 20 rescue animals on the farm and would like to one day do something interactive with them like a petting zoo, etc. I also think a corn maze would be a lot of fun. With the already substantial cost of inflation and the looming dedollarisation of US currency, my main focus now is to be as self sufficient as possible. I am not a doomsday gal and I’m not interested in creating anything that resembles a commune, (haha sounds a wee bit ridiculous but people often do make that assumption). I value my privacy and independence while realizing self sufficiency is a lot of work and I’m simply not able to do it all on my own. If growing and storing healthy foods while raising a few cows and chickens sounds like something you may be interested in, please get in touch. If it doesn’t and you’re still interested in renting the rooms or one of them, that’s fine too. Although priority will go to like minded individuals.Show less
