Description
Looking for a roommate, to help secure and share a 2 Bedroom apartment, for at least a one-year lease. I will have enough money to cover the first months rent and part of a damage deposit, however the rental situation in Calgary has gotten quite expensive & my $2000 in savings won't cut it. Neither will renting out a room in the NE with a bunch of random, potentially drugged-out, sketchy strangers... I am looking for someone, aged 18 to 35, to help me secure an apartment, and to commit to a years lease together. After the years lease is done, if you need/have to move out, I'll pay you back your damage deposit upon moveout, pending no damage, pets smearing feces on my furniture or smoke stains on the carpet... Unfortunately due to previous roommates in the past, this is exactly what I am looking for, NON-NEGOTIABLE: - (if you are in school) you MUST be a student with an 100% course load at a post-secondary institution. I'm a SAIT grad, I know what it's like & I also know that student loans will help you to cover your rent at 100% course loads, guaranteed. 80% and below, they dial back your loans & rent, bills, groceries, become an issue. How do I know? Done it before, twice. - (if you are not in school) YOU MUST HAVE FULL-TIME, VERIFIABLE EMPLOYMENT. One of my last roommates, he didn't have a regular job & he had irreversible money issues. Ones before that? Lived off EI & CERB, owed like thousands. You NEED to either have your own small business, of which could be considered F/T or equivalent income ($900/two weeks), or a full-time job at 40 hours per week. Alternatively, two jobs with 40 hours a week between the two, is also acceptable. - light drinking only. i do drink, but my blackout days are behind me... i don't care if you drink (i love root beer & whiskey/rum), just don't drink drink... - no smoking inside of the apartment. I'm a smoker myself, but it's not worth the eviction notice or the loss of a damage deposit... smoke outside, and if you do smoke, either it's: tobacco, vapes or NON-INDUSTRIAL AMOUNTS OF WEED. If you go through a zip a week, look for another roommate because I cant stand people that burn hundreds of dollars a month on weed... - as you can tell by the picture that I posted, psychedelics I'm open to, but other drugs are a no-go. Salvia is an exception though, I don't want that ANYWHERE near me... I would also recommend not taking ayahuasca at home, because I am a horrible tripsitter. - the last times I rented with someone that had pets: they smeared feces & pissed on my furniture, and on the carpets of their room. It costed me my damage deposit. i also had a previous landlord that used to keep their dogs in kennels when he was at work, just for them to go #2 in the kennels while he was away. i also lost a couch previously to dogs leaving other bodily fluids on my couch, and nearly got attacked by other roommates dogs for no apparent justifiable reasons... NO PETS. NO EXCEPTIONS. I'm sorry, but I'm not babysitting your pets or paying hundreds out of pocket to clean up their messes, nor do I want to see them suffering in pain because you blew your veterinary budget for your pets on Skip & weed... I'm a laid back guy, but I'm not tolerating the suffering of animals (or cleaning up someone else's piss, vomit, hair and/or feces) under my roof. NOT happening. - LGBT friendly, hookup friendly. Just please, keep it reasonable. A lineup outside of my front door & constant randoms in my apartment every single day will NOT be tolerated... I've had my stuff stolen & vandalized before by randoms, and came home from work once to find my landlord passed out naked on his couch, so I really don't want to deal with this... - I can provide limited furnishings, and share kitchen stuff with you (obviously) but please bring your own bed & your own bedroom furniture. I'll work on getting living room furnishings when we move in (i got tables galore but no couches; re: previous roommates), but you need your own bedroom stuff. This is coming from a guy whose slept with his mattress on the floor for years lol, trust me, it helps. - if you have a car, consider yourself a priority on my list of potential roommates. - if you like music, movies/shows, gaming, and you've gotten this far, include your favorite games, music, shows and movies in your message along with other basic details about yourself (age, M/F/T/etc, job, education, so on, so forth). I have a gaming rig, Xbox (Series X coming; currently just the One) and PS3 to share as well. Looking forward to hearing back from potential roommates. Please be advised, if you give off red flags, don't expect a response or a meet back, let alone signing a lease with you... my friend once signed a lease with his girlfriend, got booted out days after moving in with her, locks changed, cheated on, his stuff tossed in the garbage & nearly committed suicide over it... destroyed his credit rating too. I'm doing a THOROUGH search this time around, and if this is a problem for you, then do NOT reply to this ad. Thanks.
