| Room for rent downtown by Victoria Park, 5 min walk to BGH and short walk to downtown restaurants and waterfront. Unfurnished. No parking. $650/month all inclusive. The house: full shared house with high ceilings, 2 storeys, covered front porch, one bathroom and laundry on site. Small yard. NO parking as the one space is occupied by another resident, however street parking is permitted between March and November and there are municipal lots nearby. The residents: two men who work nights or shifts and generally keep to themselves. State of the home would be considered untidy but not disgusting. There is one shy cat in the home. Ideal applicant, per the roommates: male who is quiet and cleans up after himself. NO couples will be considered. Constant overnight guests will not be welcome, as it increases utility usage and interferes with the enjoyment of the other residents especially considering there is only one bathroom. This is not a child friendly atmosphere. A cat-friendly pet may be considered for the right person. First and last is required to secure your spot. Long term (at least 6 months) is preferred, a short term stay could be arranged at a different, higher, rental rate to offset the inconvenience of having to find another roommate again imminently. This is a verbal agreement only and will not be accompanied by a formal lease. It is a roommate situation, not a tenancy as defined by the Residential Tenancies Act. Things that should go without saying, but apparently need to be said: no illegal drug use in the home. Smokers are fine, please just go outside. Cannabis users are welcome. You must do your own dishes, pitch in to tidy, and spending hours in the bathroom is not appropriate as other people live there and that is where the laundry is located. You should have regular personal hygiene habits and your room should not smell so bad it affects the smell of the home. Respect the unusual sleep patterns of night shift workers by keeping noise levels appropriate. 60 days notice is preferred to move out, but at least 30 please. Rent is due on the first of the month (this can be a different date if you move in mid-month.) You will receive warnings for inappropriate conduct and after 3, you will be given 30 days notice to leave. Any inquiries that indicate you have not read this ad in its entirety will not be answered.
